Small Groups are the life of our church and the key to our growth as individuals. Most Small Groups meet weekly Tuesday-Thursday throughout Gainesville. Each group meets for about and hour and a half; we know people are busy, so our groups make sure to start and end on time.
The Small Group gathering usually begins with a discussion focused on life application of the Bible. If you’re visiting a Small Group, you can participate in the discussion as much or as little as you’d like. Discussions are followed by a time for prayer. Groups end the evening with refreshments and socializing.
How do you find the right group for you?
Here's what we've found works best for most people:
- If you've come to Vida Springs with a friend, and they're in a group already, ask if you can visit theirs. If their group’s location or demographic doesn’t work well for you, see if your friend can help you find a group that might be a better fit.
- Visit the Small Group wall in our lobby to check out a list of our small groups. Contact the group leader if you plan to visit one that week.
- Visit a Discipleship Community on the night that works best for your schedule. Discipleship Communities are typically held on the first full week of the month, Tuesday-Thursday from 6:30-8:00p.m. at Vida Springs Church.
What is a Discipleship Community?
A Discipleship Community is a mid-sized gathering of all the Small Groups that meet on a given week night. It gives people the chance to build relationships with people outside of their Small Group without being overwhelmed by the large numbers of people at a Sunday service. You do not already need to be a part of a Small Group in order to attend a Discipleship Community, and it's a great way to meet people in the small group(s) you might be interested in visiting.
Discipleship Communities meet in the auditorium at Vida Springs Church for Bible teaching, worship, prayer, and connecting with friends. During the event, one of our pastors introduces the monthly topic that groups will be discussing throughout the rest of the month.
